I can't agree more. I love the trade, they bring in a 7 foot swingman that plays much better defense than jefferson, and has the ability to score a lot more with a more quality point guard (Devin Harris > Mo Williams). Also, Bobby Simmons could deffinitely contribute to the Nets this year. he queitly averaged 8 PPG last year, and is a career 10 PPG player. He could deffinitely help the Nets offensively. As you mention, they also gain in the salaries, as they move closer to having money to sign a free agent in the LeBron summer. And in the draft, they picked as well as they could have, imo. Lopez was probably a pipedream for the Nets prior to the draft, and when MJ made another ridiculous draft day blunder taking Augustin, Lopez fell into their lap. Anderson could very well end up a plyer that ends up having a solid NBA career when nobody knew about him before the draft. And CDR at #40 was a complete steal. I figured he'd go now later than #25 with Houston, but #40? man, this guy was an all-american. the Nets had a fantastic day Thursday, and are a few more steps into the right direction.
